The Perfect Answer to Control Corrosion in the Automotive Industry -
In automobiles, there are plenty of areas where water can accumulate and rust begins forming at an alarming rate. The underside of cars is especially vulnerable to rust and corrosion due to the amount of moisture that can get trapped there. By spraying or brushing on Fluid Film®, these areas will be protected for extended periods of time, depending on road conditions and vehicle use. Fluid Film® will remain wet and pliable, creating a barrier of protection that will continue migrating to inaccessible areas where corrosion can take root. Fluid Film® will stop pitting in chrome, will prevent corrosion on battery terminals, and will assist in the removal of rust over time. It can also be applied over damp surfaces, penetrating into steel pores and displacing water and moisture.
The Perfect Answer to Control Corrosion in Aviation
For airline applications, Fluid Film® has been tested by the U.S. Air Force in accordance with Mil-C-16173-E Grade 2, and found to exceed all requirements. Delta Airlines wrote a process standard recommending Fluid Film® as a general purpose maintenance lubricant, stating that "Fluid Film® differs from other general purpose maintenance lubricants in that the lubricating capability remains for extended periods of time and is not subject to evaporation." Studies conducted by Purdue University found Fluid Film® to protect against stress corrosion cracking. When applied prior to exposure of the protected surface to an aggressive environment, Fluid Film® was most effective. Boeing's Space Systems Division wrote a specification for Fluid Film's use on the Space Shuttle after Fluid Film® passed the rigid testing standards for maintenance materials. To the best of our knowledge, Fluid Film® is the only product to meet the specifications for use on the Space Shuttle. Fluid Film® was also tested by Boeing's Engineering Materials and Process Laboratory and found to be twice as effective as commonly used CPC's for aluminum alloys. Sundstrand Aerospace wrote a specification for Fluid Film's use as a preservative oil for magnesium, which is now used as a standard throughout the helicopter industry. The U.S. Coast Guard wrote an engineering specification for Fluid Film with the purpose being to improve the corrosion resistance of corrosion prone areas of aircraft.

Battery Connections:
Fluid Film® is non-conductive, so after you clean around the battery terminals make your connections, and then spray lightly with Fluid Film®. The non-drying characteristics of Fluid Film® will provide long term protection in this application. Fluid Film® will also keep battery hold downs from corroding.
Chains:
When it comes to chain lubrication, Fluid Film® is an excellent choice for a variety of reasons. Most chains fail due to wear and corrosion wear inside the pin and bushing area. Fluid Film®, with its lanolin base, will migrate and penetrate to the inside of the chain, preventing wear and providing extended lubrication because Fluid Film® will not evaporate. Fluid Film® will also displace any trapped water, leaving a barrier of protection and containing sufficient body to resist fly off and water wash off. In dusty environments, Fluid Film® is going to extend chain life by penetrating to the inside of the chain, providing lubrication, and resisting dirt buildup on the chain due to its slick, non-tacky consistency. Fluid Film® holds up under a high degree of temperatures, will resist the high moisture present in certain manufacturing plants and, because it won't freeze, will prevent chain jam ups due to water frozen in chain links. Fluid Film® was documented as having extended locomotive drive chains in salt harvesting machinery by up to 300%.
